Because staging and interior design serve different purposes and clients, we created separate brands to provide a more tailored experience for each service. While the names are different, the team, design expertise, quality of service, and attention to detail remain the same. The timeline depends on the project's complexity, size, and scope of work. The Designer for a Day service is typically completed within a week or so. Other design projects range from a few weeks to several months. We do our best to communicate realistic expectations to our clients.

Yes, we provide design consulting services. Furniture, decor, and other purchases are not required to work with us.

We take your preferences and goals into consideration when curating design selections for you, but we’re always open to feedback and revisions. Your input is extremely important to us!

We do our best to account for client communication and any necessary revisions in our estimates. We like to get an understanding of your design preferences and goals before starting a project to ensure we’re aligned, but we understand things come up that could require revisions. Any revisions or work performed outside of the original scope would be billed at our hourly rate and communicated to the client.

Concept Development is a service where we craft a curated design mood board, suggest room layouts, and provide links to recommended products for you to purchase independently. This offers a cost-effective and collaborative approach to interior design, helping you visualize your space and providing a clear direction for the project while keeping costs lower than a full-service design. We recommend this service for those who want professional guidance with a more hands-on, budget-friendly approach.

We prioritize clear communication and collaboration throughout the design process. Regular updates and client feedback sessions ensure that the project reflects your vision while benefiting from our expertise.

Our Designer for a Day service is a 2-hour onsite consultation where we will visit your home and address all of your design-related questions, from room layouts to furniture and lighting ideas, etc. in any area of your home.

After that meeting, we will provide you with a customized document that captures all the notes from our walkthrough, along with room layout designs and inspirational photos for you to reference as you source on your own. The fee for this service is a flat rate of $750, with an hourly rate of $175 for any time beyond the initial two hours.

Our design process follows a five-step approach - Initial Walkthrough/Discovery, Concept Development, Design Development, Procurement, and Installation.

Initial Walkthrough / Discovery

This is our opportunity to get to know you and your project needs! We take a look at the space(s) and discuss your vision, style, initial budget, and timeframe. Following the walkthrough we will send you a design fee estimate as well as a contract to officially onboard you as a new client.

Concept Development

Once we have a good understanding of your style and preferences, we provide a visual presentation with inspirational images. This presentation includes a mood board, space planning, and furniture/material selections. The purpose of this meeting is to refine our selections and address any feedback that you may have. At this time, we will also discuss our anticipated product costs as well as third-party contractor requirements (painters, electricians, artists, etc.).

Design Development

After the concept design meeting, we will make changes based on the feedback and recreate a new presentation. We will then have our final design meeting, presenting all selected products for approval prior to purchasing.

Procurement

Once the design is finalized and approved, we will begin to place orders for the items required for the project. This includes sending an invoice to the client with the items. Once the invoice has been paid in full, Penny and Piper will place the order through our vendors, track shipments, and schedule any third-party services for installation.

Installation

The best part! Once all items are received, we will schedule an install date for our warehouse to bring all the items to the site. Depending on the size of the project, the duration will typically take 4-5 hours. We will also bring accessories to stage for photos.
